From 1988-1994 she was the Chief Executive Capricorn Publishing and Editor of Ita magazine. In 1992 she convened Australia's first National Family Summit for which she was honoured by the United Nations. 1992 also saw her recognised as the recipient of the Hartnett Medal, for professional achievements in publishing, journalism, radio, TV broadcasting and community service – the first woman to receive the honour.
